Design A Lead Magnet
That Fits Your Audience Needs

To create a lead magnet that resonates with your target audience best on Pinterest, you need to first understand their true needs and deepest desires. Researching your audience’s interests and pain points is critical for creating a lead magnet that is both relevant and useful to them.  If you truly want to use your lead magnet to attract aligned leads that stack sales on automations, then you must have a juicy solution to their most pressing problems. This ensures not only greater chances of conversions but also increases the likelihood of it being shared back to their boards on Pinterest and thus amongst the Pinterest community.

When designing your lead magnet, you must think about what problems your audience is looking to solve and create something that provides a solution. This will demonstrate that you understand their concerns and can offer value.

Be sure to align the design and format of your lead magnet with the aesthetic of Pinterest, as it is a visually-driven platform. A Google Doc isn’t gonna cut it. Get into Canva, or hire a professional to design your dreamiest digital product suite that your audience will eat up!

To get ideas for your lead magnet, consider searching for keywords and topics related to your niche on Pinterest. Scope out the pins that pop up. Use this information to create something that will inspire and engage your audience.

By creating a lead magnet that’s congruent with your ideal client’s desires and problems, you’ll be able to generate more aligned leads and drive more traffic to your website with EASE.

CreatE Engaging Pins
That Drive Traffic to Your Lead Magnet

To drive traffic to your lead magnet, you need to create pins that stand out and grab the attention of Pinners in a sea of pins.

First, make sure your pin has a visually appealing image with high-quality graphics, bold typography, and eye-catching colors. Your pin design should stay true to your brand’s colors and fonts, and you can create a template set that allows you to batch create new pins easily. Feel free to explore new designs, especially as you spend more time on Pinterest and discover what kind of pins are catching your attention.

Another important aspect to consider is the pin’s size and ratio. Pinterest recommends using a vertical aspect ratio of 2:3 or 1:2.1, with a minimum size of 600×900 pixels (ideally 1000×1500), to ensure your pins show up clearly on users’ feeds. PRO TIP: You can absolutely create multiple versions of the same pin with slightly different wording or design to test which one performs better.

Be sure to use keywords to highlight the benefits of your lead magnet and inspire curiosity in your audience in both the image of your pin and the actual description.

Lastly, make sure your pins are easily shareable by adding a “Save” button to your website or blog. This will allow readers to easily save your pins to their own Pinterest boards no matter where they initially found your website, increasing the visibility of your lead magnet and potentially attracting more leads.

Promote Your Lead Magnet
on Pinterest to Drive Conversions

Now that you’ve got some pin templates for your lead magnet, it’s time to focus on promoting it to your Pinterest audience.

One effective way to do this is by utilizing Pinterest’s advertising platform (see also Promoted Pins: Pros & Cons). With the ability to target specific audiences, or specific keyword searches, as well as retargeting capabilities, you can reach the right people who are most likely to be interested in your lead magnet.

Another way to promote your lead magnet organically is by creating a dedicated Pinterest board for it. This will allow you to showcase all of the content related to your lead magnet in one place, making it easier for people to engage with and share. Be sure to create a board based on the actual KEYWORDS people are using on Pinterest.

For additional organic reach, you can pin your lead magnet to relevant group boards and collaborate with other Pinterest users to reach a larger audience – but only the most RELEVANT group boards.

Use Tailwind to share
your new pins

Speaking of group boards, Tailwind, my preferred Pinterest scheduler, has an exclusive members only community to share your new pins inside! Much like group boards, these are geared toward specific niches, so your content is getting seen faster by other active Tailwind users in your field. This is great for a boost in your organic reach for new pin designs!

Pinterest is also my favorite way to put new pins out every single day in advance, so you don’t have to worry about being ‘active’ on the platform nearly as often.

Tailwind’s got a free version to check out all their amazing features and a few paid plans to fit different needs & budgets!

Measuring the Success
of Your Lead Magnet on pinterest

Whether you focus on promoting your lead magnet on Pinterest purely organically or with the aid of Promoted Pins, it’s important to track your results and adjust your strategy accordingly.

Taking a look at the data is the only way to effectively determine what’s working, what’s not, and how you can optimize your strategy moving forward.

One way to track your results is by using Pinterest Analytics, which allows you to see how many clicks, saves, and impressions your pins are receiving. You can also see information about your audience demographics and what types of content are resonating with them.

Another must-use tool is Google Analytics, which can tell you how much traffic your lead magnet is driving to your website and how engaged those visitors are. You can use this information to optimize your landing page and make sure it’s effectively converting visitors into leads.

I’m also a huge fan of Hotjar. Hotjar is a tool that connects to your website to record visits and analyze engagement to provide you with more insight into how your users are actually interacting with your pages.

If your focus is only on organics for marketing your lead magnet on Pinterest, then you want to take a look at the bigger picture; measure analytics only at the end of the month. Don’t get caught up in impressions. Instead focus on the amount of OUTBOUND CLICKS your pins are bringing you. Saves are great, too, but they don’t equate to traffic. Traffic equates to traffic. And that traffic should convert into sales.

Do not forget to analyze how your conversions are going! An increase in traffic from your Pinterest marketing should mean an increase in sales. If you’re getting THOUSANDS of visitors back to your site each month, but there’s nothing in your bank account, you need to figure out where the gap is.

Overall, measuring the success of your lead magnet campaign on Pinterest is essential to making data-driven decisions and improving your marketing efforts.
By analyzing your results and adjusting your strategy accordingly, you can continuously improve and optimize your lead generation efforts on Pinterest.

Conclusion

Because Pinterest is a search engine fueled by solution seekers, your lead magnet and thus your email list can THRIVE on Pinterest!

By fully understanding your target audience, designing a lead magnet that fits their needs, creating gorgeous pins, promoting your lead magnet organically & with ads, and measuring your success, you’ll be well on your way to generating more leads and conversions.

Remember to continuously analyze your results and make tweaks for continuous improvement until you see the kind of conversion rate that makes you major profits. Start implementing these strategies today and watch your lead magnet soar with the help of Pinterest!
